Beat Legend: Avicii

Position: Project manager at Hello There.

With all the hard work put into optimizing the console game Avicii Invector, an opportunity in the form of Atari presented itself as a mobile game pitch.

My role in this project was to lead a team of dedicated game developers pouring the heart and talent into the project. I was also responsible for the various trailers produced for the game launch. We knew from the start that the interaction needed to be different than its bigger sibling but at the same time being intuitive and challenging in a fun way.

With the relatively short time scope to launch we wanted to keep as much art assets as possible but instead of designing a new complete world like Invector, we broke up the environment into chunks that can be loaded in a designed sequence or in random depending on the song being played.

AVICII – Invector

Position: Project manager / Senior animator at Hello There.

Originally released 2017 for Playstation 4, the game is a collaboration between Hello There Games and the late Tim Bergling. After his passing, an effort was made to fine-tune the game, add new content and release it on additional platforms.

I took over the role as a project manager, handling planning, scoping, evaluation on a daily basis. The team at Hello There Games really delivered on this title both in quality and content. To watch the game finally getting the proper release it deserves and sees the amount of love and attention from the gaming community brings tears to my eye. I hope that our efforts live up to the dream that Hello There Games and Tim started over four years ago.

Available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One with Nintendo Switch releasing some time during 2020

Carbage

Position: Project manager / Senior animator at Hello There.

This party racing game is a pet project for many at Hello There. A project where we chipped in hours here and there in order to deliver this cute and funny experience.

This was an incredible journey for me. The game began as a pitch for a client. I managed to cut and paste together the pitch using Unity Assets and tutorials. But that wouldn’t hold up for the real game release. In the final product, my role was project manager, video editor and animator while a handful of experienced team member poured their heart and soul into the game.

All in all, a game the team and I are deeply honoured to have been apart off.

Taekwondo Grand Prix

Position: Project manager / Senior animator at Hello There.

This game has been slowly cooking for a couple of years. Trying to get a really good fighting experience on PC by drawing on the success and ideas for our Taekwondo World Tournament mobile game.

An all new art style, allot of new animations using motion capture as source. beautiful arenas and multiplayer seasons for the players to master.

This being an on and off project for a couple of years meant that the team has changed from time to time. So I’m the latest project manager standing on the shoulder of giants. Besides managing the team I also worked on all character related animations in this project. Rigging, animating by hand and cleaning motion capture data. The team has made an incredible job polishing this into a really awesome experience.
